NESTA’s Certified Personal Fitness Trainers (PFT) must adhere to the Standards of Professional Practice and Code of Ethics set forth by the Certification Board. The Board’s Policies and Procedures Committee will evaluate, assess, and take disciplinary action against any NESTA PFT who is found to be noncompliant with the requirements as outlined in NESTA’s Standards of Professional Practice and Code of Ethics.
The Policy and Procedures Committee will handle each complaint accordingly. The following steps will be taken:
Step 1- Investigate
Investigate complaints against NESTA PFTs to determine the nature and severity of the alleged violation(s).
Step 2- Evaluate
Validate and/or resolve complaints of inappropriate conduct and issues of compliance with the Standards of Professional Practice and Code of Ethics.
Step 3- Determine
Determine what necessary course of action, if any, shall be taken (if any) against the NESTA PFT.
Step 4- Report
Create a document detailing the committee’s findings and whatever disciplinary action is deemed necessary by the Policies and Procedures Committee of the Certification Board.
Step 5- Appeal
Should a CPFT request an appeal, the Policies and Procedures Committee will hear the appeal and modify the final decision, as appropriate.
